A battle like any other, against any number of faceless League individuals. There was no prestige for him to be earned here, no accolades, this was just part of his job. So in his full cybersuit he waded into the battle, the grunts were fighting with all they had, and some were doing well enough. So he felt that he would be a little gracious, and help them. His Magearna would appear from the pokeball that kept it hidden, and he pointed to a group of troops.

A single Fleur Canon at their feet was enough to send them sprawling backwards, and that gave him time to study the one who appeared to be giving them orders.

"I don't recognize you....Are you some new higher up?" The robotic, and dissonant voice escaped from beneath the helm.

It didn't really matter his Magearna was already charging up another attack, and soon a Flash Canon was making it's way towards the newcomer. If this was their leader, then it only made sense for him to take them out first, and leave the rest of the troops in disarray.

Preston Fugu

"Hup!" As the cannon shot at him, Preston and his Tentacruel danced around the strike with remarkable dexterity. They were familiar with the song of swords and the clash of steel on the battlefield.

"Rocket..." Preston's voice was thick with hatred. Even his Tentacruel seemed enraged, as its various tentacles grasped around anything nearby. As soon as it found a rock, it squeezed it until it shattered into gravel. "That's not normal uniform. You a beast?"

He didn't expect a response. He was familiar with Rocket's structure from his years of leal service. If this was a Rocket Beast, the battle had gone from bad to worse. This wasn't a fight he'd be able to win. It'd be best to retreat for now and wait for a better chance.

There was still a chance to turn around and live a peaceful life.

"You took EVERYTHING FROM ME!" Fugu's tentacles twisted in rage as it shot out a massive Hydro Pump, which skimmed the Flash Cannon as it continued straight towards the armored figure and his Magearna.

Amor Rose

He quirked a brow as the man in all his glorious defiance shot out a Hydro Pump in an attempt to destroy the pair in one go. It did smash into his Magearna, but despite the damage it could still fight. What was more curious was that this man thought he was one of the Rocket Beasts. Amor couldn't help, but chuckle at that thought, he wondered how Tempest Quinn, or Alexandra Briarwood would feel upon hearing about this.

Though he wasn't going to correct this man, instead he found it flattering.

"Take out the walking kalimari...." He gave the order to his walking artillery, and soon she Locked On to the Tentacruel, and then without further ado a Zap Canon would follow in order to electrify, and paralyze the water type.

"I don't know who you think I am....But I took nothing from you...." Came the answer to the stranger, a voice as calm as the other was angry. "Though I'm flattered...." Came the sarcasm next as he wondered who exactly this man was. Was he Ex-Rocket? Amor only really kept up to date on present Rocket, so this man would have to be an older vet.

Preston Fugu

"It might not have been you, but the system you support, who you align with..." Preston snarled at the masked man with rage. Massive arms clenched in fury as he remembered the wrongs of Rocket. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn... It'd never end. Preston would never get a chance for a peaceful life while Rocket still reigned.

"You're unforgiveable. Worse than that, you're complicit. We'll put you in the ground."

There was no way to dodge the Magearna's strike. Of that, he was confident. Mechanical Pokemon always seemed to hit their shots from Preston's experience. It meant that dodging was almost impossible. It was time to get creative.

As the Zap Cannon struck, Fugu melted into a puddle of Acid Armor. The Zap Cannon struck as the Tentacruel reformed, avoiding the worst of the damage. Nonetheless, arcs of electricity danced across the sea creature as it let out a low bellow of pain.

"Paralysis." Preston spat onto the ground. "Wrap 'em."

Electrified tentacles rushed towards the Magearna and began to squeeze on the mechanical doll. Tighter and tighter and tighter, until there was little room for movement.

Amor Rose

"Ah I didn't realize you were one of those people....Tell me how is the view from that glass house of yours?" Came the smug reply from the armored man. A Reflect would go up as the Tentacruel closed the gap, and wrapped itself around her to mitigate the damage as much as possible.

"Yes yes I've heard this all before, Rocket bad, League good....Please spare me...." Perhaps he should start keeping count of the little hero speeches that people gave when they fought him, it would be far more entertaining. Still his Magearna would need time, and the Reflect should buy her some, so in the meanwhile he would just continually indulge this man.

"We could talk about how your institution still fails people, and that's how they wind up in Rocket to even begin with? But if we did that would make you a pretty big hypocrite, no?" He taunted them all the same not really caring one way or the other.

Preston Fugu

"Grrr..."

Preston's voice rumbled with anger. It wasn't his institution. The League didn't mean anything to him, but they were paces better than Rocket. The League hadn't killed his friends. The League hadn't killed his Pokémon. Rocket had done both of those things. If your organization's first goal was to raze Kanto, that organization was evil.

"They're not perfect, but they're better than you. I know what you've done. I remember Fuchsia." Preston spat bile as his attack was reflected. "I don't care about ideals. I don't care about beliefs. I just want to live in peace."

Fugu's tentacles whirled up as Preston clenched a fist. He looked up at the armored man with anger and pain in his eyes.

"So why..."

The question was never finished. The earth rumbled and shook as a large beast appeared on the cliffside. Members of the League and Rocket screaned and shouted and pointed at the Raging Bolt that was slowly making its way down the cliff.

Preston turned to face it.

"What...?" His voice was drowned out by a Thunderclap that arched across the battlefield, zapping and killing trainers and Pokémon alike.

Fuschia?

Amor didn't know much about the war in Kanto if he was being completely honest, but he did have some interesting insight into that particular city. If only because it was in the RKS Simulation, in fact he, and Lulu Flint had fought one declan walsh there. It was where he learned that perhaps his colleague was not as fond of their boss as they might have appeared to be on the outside. Or maybe he was interpreting it all wrong. It mattered not to him as he was about to have his Magearna blast the large squid off of itself, but he was soon stopped by the sound of thunder.

"There you are...." He said to the beast completely ignoring his opponent for the moment, and with another pokeball in hand he was about to release his most trusted partner to deal with it. But he was stopped by the sound of a single pebble clinging against his armor. Then another, and he frowned.

"EVERYONE! GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" He roared the order to Rocket, and League alike. His Gallade appeared beside him, and he let out an annoyed tch of his tongue, as the pair Teleported over to their would be enemy, and a Protect would encase them as the canyon began to fill with rumbling sounds. The Raging Bolt's attack had triggered a natural rock slide.

Preston Fugu

Area Zero was hell.

Bodies fell to the ground, charred and crackling. Electricity danced from the fingertips of the slain as their organs were fried and skin darkened. Paradox Pokémon were alien to him, and Preston didn't fully know what they were capable of. As men died, all Preston could do was watch.

"No, not again. It won't be like last time." He remembered the battle with Kyurem, where robotic creatures came to life and turned the land red with blood. How many more of these things existed? Robots, now dinosaurs? As the Thunderclap struck, Preston reached for his Pokeball to return his Tentacruel.

The strike did not come.

"Why're you protecting me?" Preston turned to the masked man with a scowl. "We're enemies."

As he asked, the ground began to tremble due to the rock slide. Area Zero shook as the ground cracked as people were buried under tons of stone. Soon, Preston and his savior would be next. The ground continued to crack as a latticework of crevices appeared around them.

The ground was soon to collapse.

Hidden eyes rolled at the mans insinuation that they were enemies.

"Please if I wanted to kill anyone I would....I don't like the stench of death personally, it's not my style." It wasn't a lie, but whether the man believed him or not was another matter entirely. The facts were, they were both now trapped under tons of rubble only protected by the thin veil of safety that his Gallade had conjured up.

"We can go back to fighting later, but I don't feel like being crushed under a hundred tons of rock...." He stated, and then began to think of a way out of this particularly awful situation.
